Innovative Additions

We each have a story, a special time or, a defining moment, that ties us to our temple community. These memories are the fabric that bind us together and keep us close during celebrations and sorrows. Beth Tikvah is celebrating 60 years of an amazing story of strength, perseverance, growth, hope, and change and we are thrilled to be part of the story. As school leaders we will encourage our tzevet (staff) to create opportunities for the talmidim (students) to add to their Beth Tikvah story.

This year we are very excited to be incorporating new and innovative additions to our Beth Tikvah Religious School Story. Our first exciting new chapter in our religious school year is the integration of new technology to enhance the educational opportunities offered to our students. With the assistance of an extremely generous donor, we now have new technology carts that will help with the delivery of the most current Jewish content. Students will also be given opportunities to use Chromebooks and tablets to connect with the Jewish world outside of our classroom walls. Another innovative chapter to add to our story this year is an online Judaics curriculum called Shalom Learning. Students and families in Grades two through five will have the opportunity to learn and engage in curriculum focused on Jewish Values.

Shalom Learning provides a fresh approach to Jewish Education by using technology and making the curriculum and materials relevant to students. This occurs by relating stories from the Torah and Jewish history to events happening in our students daily lives. Shalom Learning helps each student explore his or her personal connection with their Judaism.

We must also thank Sisterhood for their donation to Religious School which provided new screens and assisted in paying for a new portable dry erase board for school use.

Please join us with your child(ren) for Open House on Sunday, September 10th as we add another year in the “books.”
